By Venus Cuevas for Fallen Angels Radio
We might have won the war, but nobody can deny that British artists revolutionized music.
Hi! I’m Venus, one of the co-hosts for Fallen Angels Radio (check us out on instagram @fallenangelsradio). This is a comprehensive (and completely biased) list of who I think are some of the greatest British artists of all time.
P.S. – Please don’t be mad when you realize the Beatles aren’t on this list, they’re indisputable enough as it is.
Cocteau Twins

Starting off strong with an indisputable trailblazer, the mother of dream pop, Ms. Elizabeth Fraser. No matter how you look at it, this band’s discography has heavy hitters in just about every single one of their projects. From over 12 albums, singles, and EPs; there’s guaranteed to be a song that makes you question if Elizabeth Fraser is truly human or just a siren in disguise.
Some of my favorites from their discography:
- Cico Buff
- Know Who You Are At Every Age
- Rilkean Heart
- Fotzepolitic
- Eyes Are Mosaics
- For Phoebe Still A Baby
Blood Orange
Another phenomenal artist (something I’d confidently say about any artist on this list so it’s probably lost its meaning). Blood Orange–known also as Dev Hynes–is easily one of the most genius artists to ever exist. Not only is his own discography amazing (definitely worth a listen if you haven’t already heard him), his production on other works is not to be ignored. Honestly, just the fact that he produced “Everything Is Embarrassing” by Sky Ferreira is enough to label him a genius for me.

@Wikipedia
Some of my favorites from his work:
- Mind Loaded (ft. Caroline Polachek, Lorde, Mustafa)
- Countryside (ft. Eva Tolkin, Liam Benzvi, Ian Isiah)
- Bad Girls
- Champagne Coast
- Chosen
- You’re Not Good Enough
Radiohead
Do I even need to explain this one? Not only do they have Thom Yorke, they also produced a nearly perfect discography. Name one bad Radiohead song, I dare you.

Some of my favorites:
- Let Down
- India Rubber
- (Nice Dream)
- Black Star
- Lucky
- Thinking About You
The Smiths
Despite Morrisey’s personal shortcomings, I can’t seem to let this band go. The starter pack for fall depression and personal pity (with really good vocals, obviously). A rite of passage for every semi-sad teenager, with bonus points for being mentioned in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

@Wikipedia
Some of my favorites:
- Asleep (Shoutout Charlie)
- Pretty Girls Make Graves
- I Know It’s Over
- Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
- Half A Person
- Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others
Fleetwood Mac
Phenomenal in every sense. What other band serves looks, messy breakups, and insane vocals the way they do? You don’t even need to mention the curse, honestly. Stevie Nicks’ vocals alone earn them a spot on my list.

Fan Favorites, the fan being me:
- Only Over You
- Landslide
- Emerald Eyes
- Silver Springs
- You Make Loving Fun
Aphex Twin
Not everyone’s cup of tea but they’re amazing when they are. Their logo is insane, album covers are genius, and they have my best friend’s stamp of approval. I only listen to them in a very specific mood, so the fact that they made the list speaks volumes.

Favorites:
- #3
- Xtal
- Pulsewidth
- Flim
- Mookid
- Fingerbib
The Sundays
Always in my top 10, so of course I had to give them their rightful spot on the list. The gateway into my infatuation with both dream and jangle pop, every single album on their discography is at least an 8/10 for me.

My Favorites:
- Nothing Sweet
- Summertime
- Life Goes On
- Leave This City
- Skin & Bones
- Gone
Panchiko
Discovered through a nearly unidentifiable cd and borderline psychopathic searching, Panchiko has certainly earned their stripes. They’ve gone on multiple tours and released 6 albums since they were brought into the limelight. Since I have the pleasure of getting a ticket to see them May 2026 and have listened to D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L an unhealthy amount of times, I figured they deserved to be on my list.

2025 Favorites:
- D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L
- Laputa
- Sodium Chloride
- Kicking Cars
- All They Wanted
- Mac’s Omelette
Charli xcx
Last, but certainly not least, the Essex diva who had an entire summer rebranded by her indisputable hit of an album, Brat. An icon through and through.

Some of her best (IMO):
- party 4 u
- Girl, so confusing featuring Lorde
- B2b
- Silver Cross
- Cross You Out (ft. Sky Ferreira)
