Crying at a Laufey Concert
Laufey is a modern jazz artist from Iceland. Most people know her for her for songs From the Start, Falling Behind, or Lover Girl.
Last year my friend and I bought tickets to see Laufey during her Bewitched Tour on August 7th. A “Thursday” night. On Wednesday we were hanging out in my room, an hour from LA, and saw people posting about a Laufey concert and we thought “Hmm why are there videos of a Laufey concert today if the concert is tomorrow?”. We checked our tickets and figured out the concert was actually on Wednesday and not Thursday. We missed the concert. Heart. Broken.
A year later we were able to snag concert tickets to her A Matter of Time Tour for September 26 at the Crypto Arena! We made triple sure that we had the correct date of course. We learned our lesson.
The concert started at 9 pm and wow was it so good. The second I heard the intro of Dreamer I started to bawl my eyes out. One would think I had recently gone through a breakup or something. WRONG. The music was just so good. About halfway through the show, she performed a swing variation of From the Start. It was so super cool to see her do a spin of her own song.
I would consider it to be one of the best concerts I have been to!
